I want to export my motorbike to Pakistan, Islamabad.

My agenda is to drive it with Swedish registred licenceplates, so I can bring it back with me to Sweden.

It's a Yamaha R1 from 2008.

What are rules/regulations on this issue?

What are the customs and duties on motorbikes?

Could DHL, FedEx or other shipping companies be worth a try for shipment or is it wise to consult with the Pakistani embassy?

READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO SEND YOUR CAR TO PAK.

Last year I sent two cars through my friend's import/export/relocation business. He has office in London and two offices in Pak (Karachi & Islamabad).

Generally it is very expensive to send cars more than 2yrs old to Pakistan, so not worth it.

My friend's company has the infrastructure and contacts to do this relatively cheapily. I paid £2000-£3000 each for a 2000 year BMW and 2002 honda. Both very good condition.If you interested email me for details? Please don't waste my time if you not serious.

Remember, no old bangers. It doesn't make sense.

My name is Naveed, and I'm a UK born citizen who moved to Pakistan to set up a car importing service for mainly UK individuals. My location is Kallar Sayedan, Pakistan. We import a wide range of cars, mainly Toyota and Nissan models.

We also deal in the high end of the car market, although these are only for select individuals who have deep pockets!

As a general example, a brother recently imported an exotic car through us. We handle all the paperwork and take the stress out of the importation.

The car was A Ferrari F430 Spider model. Under the currenct rules a car must be less than two years old. This was last summer, July 2008. The car imported was an 07 plate, 2007.

The value of this car was 90, 000GBP. There has to be a 150% value of vehicle to be paid as tax, a 6.5% general tax and further taxts amounting to 9%. This brings the total taxes to 165.5% of the value of the car. Shipping costs were 2, 000GBP.

In total this car cost our client (to import) 148, 950GBP. The total cost (including our work, shipping, all taxes) was 160, 000GBP. So we can import your car, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porches, Rolls Royce.

We have experience in importing several exotics, and to date we have imported 29 Ferraris, 11 Lamborghinis, 35 Porches, 7 Rolls Royces and we are currently working on a Bugatti Veyron.

These cars you can see around the Kallar Sayedan area of Pakistan and surrounding villages where we have a few millionaires and sporting heroes.
