Where should I visit in Palau?

I Love Palau (66.8.251.136) -

I am planning to visit Palau in August! Can anybody give me advice about where to visit in Palau! Are there any nice restaurants where I can enjoy fresh foods? Are there any nice places that I will enjoy staying? Are there any nice men unlike Wilz? Are there any trustful women unlike Uri? I really want to have an excellent time in Palau as all the Palauans that I know here in the USA are just terrible. So, I have decided to meet real Palauans with beautiful minds!

Unfortunately, I decided not to go to Palau this summer. I am so scared of visiting small islands as one of my Palauan freinds told me that Palauan women love gossiping. I am from a big city and kind of look down on people who gossip about others. I, at the same time, understand that they have no other leasure except wasteing their time and energy by doing that because it is the same in every small island in many countries. I need a little more time to get used to such a primitive act, I mean, I should learn how to ignore people like that as there might be more primitive things going on there. I do not mind looking at people wearing grass skirts but I do not want to see people with primitive ideas. I am a woman, and I will go there by myself, so I am sure that every Palauan look at me with curious eyes and start talking about me, of course, only bad things as it is the case with gossiping. I am scared of such acts as I have never been to undeveloped countries in my life. Do you have any suggestions? I am definately going to vist Palau this winter as I have to go back to my country as I have to quit my school, then. So, I want to see Palau with my own eyes as I do not have a chance to visit there once I go back to my country.

I think women gossip everywhere. Ignore them and have a good time. What you think and feel is important not some lazy women who ain't got nothing to do but make up silly stories about people and pass them around. For all you know they gossip about you even if you never visit Palau!

The gossip is their problem, not yours!

Sulang for your tip.

My Palauan female friend that I respect and trust told me about gossiping of Palauan women. She even had an experiment. A group of Palauan girls started gossiping about her, and my friend was laughing about the stupidity of those Palauan girls who gossip and waste their time and energy.

I know that gossiping is not limited to Palau, but it is a common thing among any woman in every culture. However, I had my own experiement to see how fast they spread a story, and to my surprise, on the next day, all the Palauan girls knew about it even though it was my make-up story. I saw all the Palauan girls that I know were having a big meeting right after I told only one girl about it. Sigh...

Anyway, I am trying my best to ignore such silly stories that Palauan girls are making about people who do not belong to their stupid group. So, what I have written is not my assumption but rather based on my own experience.

However, I will try not to pay attention to people like that. Anyway, I already decided not to vist Palau this summer. I will visit there this winter, as I have written previously, I have to quit my school next semester as my Palauan ex-boyfriend has caused me so much trouble, and I cannot continue and finish my school. Well, it is life. I just happened to meet someone with no heart.

So, visiting Palau is very important for me as I have already started losing my love and trust for Palau and Palauans. I do not want to hate a certain counrty or a certain people because of his misbehaviors. I still want to love Palau and Palauans.

Sulang again for your reply. I will keep good work!

it sounds like you worry to much about others. they have no power unless you give to them. if you let it bother you, you'll never leave your house. enjoy life cause it doesn't stand still and wait on you.

hey, "i love palau"

you should not include personal names in such a public space. you know, someone who might know them are also reading. you are trying to make them look bad. we, palauans are not stupid as you think. so, do not act smart, this smart ass.

you deserve deserve all the bad things when you come to palau.

wilz and uri are waiting for you to experience the worse in my island. ha, ha, ha!

I am Palauan and feel very sorry for "I love Palau". Yes we do gossip but who doesn't and the only reason it gets around so fast is that we are a small closely knit community. So I hope you do not go to Palau and get to meet all of the wonderful people, dive in the most beautiful place on earth, and stay ignorant for the rest of your life. And don't talk sh*t about other people. I am sure there are people that do not like you either but you do not see them posting it. Oh and one other thing a lot of us are related and know one another so if you do go they will be waiting for you.......I would vacation elsewhere.
