JUAN ANTONIO MEDRANO Born in Panama City, Panama in 1940, Juan was found to be an astonishing talented Young boy who had made a reputation for himself well before he was out of his teens. He has over 30 years of artistic hands on experience. A close examination of Juan's work demonstrates its complexity, including precise technical specification for viscosity of the inks, formulas for accurate color balance, and most importantly, his creation of a "picture-like" image. To assure the integrity of his work, Juan produces only one edition of his designs. Has two children and currently resides in Panama. iJuan set the stage for his remarkable artistic career as he began working at the "Panama America Newspaper", from 1962-1965. As a publication artist, he gained extensive knowledge in designing art presentations and publications for Panamanian newsletters and articles. iFrom 1965-1966, he worked for the "Industrial Graphics SA (IGSA)" printing company in Panama, where he excelled as a graphic designer. His artistic expertise consisted of various work, ranging from black/white pencil sketches, to watercolor ink, to acrylic paintings. iIn 1966, he relocated with his family to Maracaibo, Venezuela, where he went to become a well known illustrator in the "Critica Newspaper" (1966-1968). His knowledge and success lead him to become Art Director for the "MBU Advertising Agency (1967- 1968) and "{CLAPSA} Advertising Agency" in Panama (1968-1969). iIn 1969, Juan came to the United States in search of greater challenges, opportunity, and exposure of his work. His enthusiastic interest in the U.S. military forces lead him to join the "United States Marine Corps" (1969-1972), where he continued to provide his artistic support as a Combat Artist. iFrom 1972-1975, he worked for Vitro Laboratories as a Graphic illustrator providing artistic support to various military contracts. iFrom 1975-1976, he worked in the "White House" as an for a Interior Decorator/Architect. His artistic expertise were applied in the renovation of many of the rooms in the White House. iFrom 1976-2000. He worked for the National Defense University in Fort McNair. As a Visual Information Specialist, he designs and generates visual presentations for various military projects. His work includes, but is not limited to pencil sketches, acrylic paintings, portrait paintings, and various types of visual illustrations. iHe has also contributed his free lance related work to Lifetime Books and Magazine, Panamarican Union, . iOther artistic skills and interest includes computer graphics, sculpturing, and painting of Pre-Columbian designs from Panama of Code" (a providence of Central Panama) Pottery. His designs exists in a wide variety of forms and decorations, including striking geometric and abstract patterns, semi-human figures, and many animal forms. Trackbacks
