I was reading some Panama news today for another forum and came across this article. It's about Panamanian investigators exhuming 6 more bodies to determine whether they died from ingesting medicine contaminated with diethylene glycol which is a chemical cousin of antifreeze. OMG!!1

Can you imagine dying from that?

Apparently some companies allegedly sold tainted ingredients to the government health agency and so far 51 people have died and dozens more were sickened.

I can't imagine living in a country with so little health control.

I believe the country does have health control, but their system isn't working.

Oh my gosh, that's horrible! Even though we Americans complain about some of the over the counter medications being now locked up in the pharmacy, that is nothing compared to this.

I suppose I'm not surprised that something like this has happened. Obviously there are not any types of regulations in place regarding this. I'm sure this has gone on for years.
