Proof that Panamanian farmers cooked with chili years ago

Recipes and Food from Panama.

Here's a link to a story that states that Panamanian farmers cultivated and cooked with prehistoric chili peppers over 6000 years ago!

Does this mean that Panamanian food is typically spicy? I can't handle foods that have even a little bit of heat.

I never found food in Costa Rica or Panama to be spicy and not all restaurants had hot sauce. Places that were frequented by Americans usually had pepper, but others didn't.

Me neither, I can't take hot spices. I have a problem with my tongue. I take after my mother and have a lot of what look like slices in my tongue. One day I had a hankering for some pineapple and ate about 5 or 6 rings of it and my whole tongue started to bleed.

It is very sensitive to hot spices and even a little kill me so if their food is spicy I wouldn't get along very well in Panama.

Ohh, I love hot and spicy food! The hotter the better - although my stomach does not seem to agree with it at times. I thought for sure that Panamanian food would be spicy - especially after posting that article.
