dear readers, i have a painting from this man fred hellrich the piece of wood its painted on is 260 years old made from the original stauffers barn in 1750 if you know anything about this EMAIL ME AS SOON AS POSSILE AT thomas_woods@live.com its a piture with old keys and shadows one of the keys is in a door at the bottom fred hellrich's signatures stands there iis also on the back words that state this piece of board comes from a variety of boards stored in a barn at the late stauffers farmstead kutztown road near clayton PA which this artist aquired in 1962 having been a long-time neighbor of the stauffers this artist was told by them that these boards are leftovers from their first barn in 1750's |

John and Hannah Stauffer owned this property in 1880 then passed it to there 4 children Irwin, Howard, Agnes and Joanna, they had no one to pass it to upon there death it was bought by Fred and Gertrude Hellrich, I dont know that he knew the Stauffer's but it had been there barn, it is now owned by someone else. Funny thing is I was just doing a little background research on this property today and looking for something totally unrelated but found this forum, so I figured I would let you know the history of the property. This comes from following the deed research back to 1880. The family's were all local. |
