Is there any other information regarding this event? The only statement I have seen is that the accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 and the Holiday Inn had 150 people evacuated.
When will there be information about this evacuation and the 2-mile area that is closed down? When will this accident be cleaned up?

I live in the area and work not far from the spill. It seems to me that it was handled poorly. Everyone I knew who had driven by the spill said that police officers had absolutely no HASMAT masks or suits or any protection whatsoever. Then a report from Clear Channel says "it wasn't hydrofluoric acid that spilled, it was a caustic cleaning solution." They did not identify the chemicals, and failed to point out that hydrofluoric acid is actually a caustic cleaning solution itself. I have heard no other news except clear channel telling everyone that everything is fine. This seems like Clear Channels standard MO concerning dangerous chemical spills nationwide, no matter what the spill actually is. Also the spill occurred off I-81, not I-80, right where the Cameron Street exit is.
