Retired Brookville, Pa eye surgeon Steven M. Greenberg's second novel has received an Independent Publisher's finalist award for fiction.Greenberg's INCANTATION was selected as a finalist for the yearly award for general fiction marking it as one of the five best novels of the year among entries submitted from 1500 publishers.
"This has given an inordinate amount of encouragement to me and my literary career. It is a wonderful experience to realize that you are finally connecting on a fundamental level with readers," Greenberg said.
Greenberg, retired from his medical practice last year to pursue his literary ambitions. He is also the author of ADAM'S WILL, published in 2000. He began writing several years ago, having had a lifelong affection for the written word. Greenberg has stated that he takes inspiration from some of the old masters-Faulkner, Chaucer, Spencer, Tolstoy and Proust.
Greenberg received his award at the Mariott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan amid a gathering of more than 500 writers, publishers and agents.
