I have been corresponding with Leah Dulan Cruz, aka Ann Grates(e-mail address anngrates@ymail.com) of Iligan City. We first made contact at the site DateMeFree.com. An initial web search produced a lady by the name of Ann Grates at AntheaClub.com. The profiles were identical in several areas--even the area where she described herself and what she was looking for in a partner-- but the pictures were definitely of different people. When I asked her about the profile at AntheaClub, she first pleaded ignorance but later said she did not know the lady. Strangely enough, the profile at AntheaClub disappeared in short order. I passed this off, but thought more about it after later events. After a couple of letters, she provided her cell phone number and asked me to call. I did. After another letter, she declared her love for me, and asked for my trust in her. In her letters and during our phone calls she spoke fondly of her landlord(the owner of her rooming house)and her housemates. When I called her for the third time to wish her a happy birthday(a date which conflicted with the date she posted at her profile), the line was busy the first couple of times but I reached her a couple of hours after the first call. When she answered the phone she was crying and said that her day had been awful. Someone had broken into her room and taken the cash she had taken out of the bank buy a gift with and to pay her rent. I told her to call the police dept. and speak with her landlord. She said her landlord was uncooperative and said that rules were rules and that she would have to come up with the rent money. I asked her to e-mail the landlord's address, full name, phone number and e-mail address to me so I could confirm the amount of the rent and discuss the matter with her. I also told her that I would contact the police dept. and if they confirmed the robbery, that I would try to help her with the rent. I am still waiting to hear from her. I think the red flags are too numerous to ignore, but I don't plan to drop her just yet.
