Population on the rise

Dancer from The Ballroom -

Statistics show that the Philippine population could double in the next 30 years if trends stay the same. They have a higher percentage of births than many areas.

I wonder if that would be a good thing? For the population to rise... I somehow think it wouldn't.

I can't remember for sure, but I think they have a higher infant mortality rate than other areas as well. I know what you mean, the increase in population is probably not such a good thing in some areas. But, a birth is a blessing if you ask me.

I agree that in most cases birth is a blessing but in really overpopulated areas, it can be really bad. If the parents have no means of supporting the child, it can give the child a not so great childhood.

I guess they do not have access to birth control as easily as Americans do then?
