How does the government system work in Philippines? Is it similiar to USA? How does it differ?

It is republic. They elect a president every 6 years. I think Joseph Estrada is the current president. I would like to know more about Joseph Estrada.

Ahhha I see, thanks for the information :) I googled up Joseph Estrada for you, and found a wikipedia page. Looks like he is not the current president, his role as president ended in 2001 it seems. Here's the link!

The government of the Philippines is organized as a presidential-unitary republic, where the President functions as head of state, the head of government, and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The president is elected by popular vote to a 6-year term, during which he or SHE appoints and presides over the cabinet of secretaries."Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the current President." Check out the Wikipedia listing (link below) for a photo of this fine looking woman! Now.. the Philippines sure beats the U.S.A. where they can't even elect an ugly women President muchless a beauty queen! • Page 1 (Original Post) •
