Hi All!

Im a Japanese working on an American Corporation here in Osaka. My question is which country should I retire? Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore or Philippines.

My suggestion would be either Laos or Malaysia. I just figure they have better accomodations and technology is more advanced in those areas.

I noticed that in Vietnam they have high speed dsl (2 megabit download 500 upload) for about $60/mo.

It largely depends on the qualifications of an ideal place for you.You have to cite factors important to you in what you consider ideal. Are the folowing factors important, such as :

1) Language barriers

2) Temperature and climatic conditions

3) Culture and hospitality - is the place expat friendly?

4) Leisure facilities and /or does it provide appropriate environment for your hobies or interests.

5) Benefits or incentives for foreign retirees

6) Cost of living and availability of private duty nurse for your future older years.

and other factors that I may have missed and important to you
