Do highly skilled workers of big companies settle down in Poland? Or are they part of a hyper-mobile group "surfing" the transnational spaces of the modern economy? How does this elite group adapt to Polish society and what benefits does it derive from working and living in Warsaw? These questions, among others, are raised by a research project being conducted by the Institute of Social Studies at the University of Warsaw (UW) and the Centre of Migration Research (UW) that is entitled, "Highly skilled foreign workers in transnational corporations in Warsaw".
The project aims at analyzing mobility patterns of highly skilled foreign workers that are employed in big companies in Warsaw and studying their social and cultural adaptation. The research focuses on representatives of three nationalities only: Americans, Frenchmen and Koreans, which will allow a number of cultural differences to be taken into account.
We kindly invite all highly skilled workers of transnational corporations in Warsaw to participate in this innovative research project, which confronts a subject that has not yet been thoroughly examined in social research.
