Description:
Alcatel OMC is a Network Management Framework developed for WiMAX Network. OMC system consists of Performance, Alarm (Fault), Configuration, Topology, Supervision, Mediation and Security Management subsystems. Mediation subsystem is in charge of the communication with the NEs. In particular, it supervises the communication link, in order to detect a communication breakdown. Mediation also applies a model mapping between the model offered by the NE and model used inside the OMC. Performance Management subsystem is responsible for the configuration of Performance and Radio Traces related parameters, such as the data retrieval granularity period and so on. It is also responsible for the performance data retrieval on the Network Elements to analyze and identify normal (baseline) levels and performance thresholds. Configuration Management subsystem maintains the mechanism for data persistency on the database, local modification of parameters, synchronization with Network elements (configuration upload or activation, alignment state), defense and integrity of the data. The operator has the capacity to use templates for configuration. Alarm Management subsystem is to detect, log, notify users and automatically fix network problems to keep the network running effectively
Alcatel NPO is a Network Performance Optimizer developed as a technology independent. OMC provides the Performance and the Configuration data to the NPO, where the service provider can view, analyze and optimize the network. OMC provides data to the NPO through technology specific plug-in.
The PM file Generation Tool generates PM files which can be loaded by NPO plugs in the same format as the files generated by PM-IM.No manual operation is required on these files before loading it into the NPO.
The PM File Generation Tool is capable of the following
Flexibility to add new Counters without changing the code.
Suspected Flag, GP can be configured.
The path where the PM Files have to be generated can also be configured.
The tool will continue to run for every GP until stopped.
The tool can directly be run on OMC server workstation. No separate Hardware is required.
The various inputs for this tool are
RTP.xml Topology information is taken from the RTP.xml file exported through Configuration Management.
Counter Dictionaries The list of Counters are taken from the Counter Dictionaries.

The system is designed using MVC pattern of Struts Framework and MySQL as the backend database model. This expands the flexibility of the application with database independency and simple user management application.

Main aim of this project is to keep track of all the activities of an employee in an Organization. Activity Scheduler is a highlight of this project, which provides the user with ability to maintain their appointment schedules as well as view schedules for people across the organization.
A search engines provided for locating the schedule of other employees based on the employee name, department etc. Special rights are given to particular users in the system to maintain schedules of other employee in the organization. The page that contains the Personal Details has the information of the person logged in, which he or she can edit and submit the changes.

The coding of Server side components using Servlets.
Developing front-end presentation module using JSP and HTML.
