These Rodipet people actually sent me an AVIS! I am really confused. There are good vibes and bad vibes drifting around the internet about this company. I was wondering whats the truth.

Hi, I am originally from Ireland, but have been living in Bucharest since May 2008. The cost of accommodation in Bucharest seems to have skyrocketed in the past few years and especially since Romania joined the European Union in January 2007. Even small apartments (flats) can cost you as much as 800 or 1, 000 euro a month, though they are probably a bit cheaper in a tower block on the outskirts of the city in an area where you probably wouldn't want to live. I've never heard of Rodipet and wouldn't accept anything from them online. The best thing to do is to come to Romania first for a short stay and find out about things on the ground. There is a lot of corruption here and the mindset is quite different from that in a lot of other Western countries. This is due to the burden of the inheritance from the communist era. A lot of Romanians, especially the younger ones, speak good English, so that wouldn't be a problem... Mark

If you make around $1, 500 per month than you can live in Romania decently. I live now in USA but i am thinking about moving back to Romania. Romania is a nice place to live if you make pretty good money. And the people are just great! Romania Rocks!

Hi I have been offered a job by Ericsson in Militari area of Bucharest.I have been offered a salary of 2100 Euro tax free and free medical facilities at Unirii Hospital. I have to relocate with family from India . I have my wife and 4 month old daughter. They are also providing one time 6000 Euros as relocation benefits. Please let me know if this is a good deal to start life in Romania. I am 5 years of experience Software Consultant.
Dear Neeraj 2100 Euros net, plus free medical is a very good salary in Romania. Militari is a relatively cheap area for rental apartments and you have Cora and Carrefore (large supermarkets) and the metro/subway in the area so transport around the city will be good. 6000 Euros relocation expenses is good as you generally have to pay 2 months rent in advance and 1 months rent as a security deposit for an apartment. A 2 bedroom (called 3 rooms in Romania) apartment in Militari in a communist block will cost you 600-800 Euros per month. A new 3 room apartment in the area will cost you approx 1500 Euros. Monthly building administration charges (theses charegs are in addition to the rent and are the tenant's responsibility) will be approx 50 Euros in summer and approx 80 Euros in winter. The best place to do your fruit and vegetable shopping is at one of the many local markets in the area. The rest of you shopping can be done at the large supermarkets in the area. Once you arrive in Bucharest you will find that there are a couple of expat groups that have regular meetings (50-90 people turn up at each meeting) so you don't have to worry about being all alone in a strange country. I moved to Bucharest from Australia 3 years ago and I own a real estate agency in Bucharest so if you have any further questions please feel free to email me at james @ southerncross realestate.ro (remove all spaces) The same goes for anyone else needing advice on moving to Bucharest, especially if your questions are regarding buying or renting real estate. Regards James Daly

Many Thanks to you James.Could you also provide me an idea of rents in Uniri Square in city centre. I'll prefer to have 1 bedroom or say two rooms apartment
Reply #61 James Daly (92.80.26.30) -
Dear NeerajA furnished, 2 room apartment at Unirii will rent for between 600 and 800 Euros per month. The price varies depending on the quality of the furniture, the location (Unirii is quite large) and the size of the apartment. Kind regards James Daly

does anyone know about intelbiz solution company?
Thank you very much JAMES. Let me sort out the Visa issues and I am planning to be in Romania in November if everything goes good.Could you please let me aware on the weather pattern for next few months. How often does it snow in Bucharest and what kinda clothes I need to carry wth me? How is the cost of clothes and other weather specific items compared to India/China if you have got any idea of these countries or compared to London
Reply #64 James Daly (92.80.44.201) -
Dear NeerajThe weather in Bucharest goes from one extreme to the other. Summer days are generally 35 to 40c and Winter is generally 0 to -5c. It normally doesn't snow more than 10 times each winter. During November the temperate will probably be around 5c. Non brand name clothes can be quite cheap over here but if you want to buy brand name clothes (CK, D&G, Armanii etc) then don't buy them here because they are more expensive than in London. There are plenty of Malls and markets where you can buy reasonably priced clothes. Kind regards James Daly

Tiary read the Reply #56 Alberto, Intelbiz is the same. Intelbiz belong to RODIPET. Don't go there by that company

HiI urgently need info about costs of living in Timisoara, as I know it differs greatly from Bucharest. I need approximate figures for one person: 1) rent (studio/one bedroom apartment) 2) utilities (water, electricity, gas) 3) food expenses (half eating out, half cooking at home) 4) internet (broadband connection at home) 5) local transportation (buses) -What would be a ballpark figure letting me cover these expenses easily? -If want to get an idea of gross salary, should I just add some 30% to net(some social security additions, taxes)? (I am a EU citizen) I'd really appreciate info specifically for Timisoara. I dont need comaprisons with London, New York, etc, as I am going to spend money earned in Romania. In case you can be of assistance, please also let me know at doe82 @ poczta.onet.pl (remove spaces) Thanks a ton Natalia

Can u help me with the cost of living in Romania. Whats the minimum amount required for food, housing, transportation, medical expenses etc.James Abraham
Reply #69 James Daly (92.80.16.130) -
Dear Richie2 room apartment 600-800 depending on the area 3 room apartment 700-1000 depending on the area The prices above are for a furnished apartment in a communist block approx 3-5 km from the centre of the city. If you want a new apartment then you need to add 1000 Euros to the prices above. In addition to the monthly rent you will need to pay administration charges that will be approx 50 Euros in the summer and 80 Euros in the winter. When you sign the contract you will generally have to pay 2 months rent in advance and 1 months rent as a security deposit. Real estate agency fees are 50% + VAT (19%) of the first month's rent. If you need help finding an apartment then this is certainly something that I can assist you with. Please feel free to email me directly. Kind regards James Daly

I have been offered a salary of Euro 2000 per month tax free bachelor accomodation transportation and medical free and also lunch and dinner for six days in a week. How good is the offer and what are my chances of making a decent saving on a salary of 2000 euro.
Parayan 2000 Euros in your hand each month, no food or accommodation expenses... you will be living very very comfortably. Depending on how often you like to go out, you should be saving 500-1000 Euros per month.
