Just learned how to make the peach pie. This way is very simple.I got the recipe from my aunt and i had to figure out the measurements on my own because she measures by eye, and after making 3 pies in a row... my 4th was the best one. Flour into mixing bowl Little bit of sugar (for instance.. ˝cup sugar to 1 lb. flour) a few dashes of cinnamon mix all ingredients add table spoons of shortening to mix mix in a tablespoon of "cold water" to dough mix altogether until dough doesn't crumble if dough is still kind of crumbly.. add more shortening. make into a ball. press dough out by hand covering whole pan or if using a rolling pin, sprinkle a little flour on dough & board before rolling out dough, so that it doesn't stick to rolling pin. drain your peaches and put in pie crust. for filling you'll need: -egg yolks (for 1 can of milk-5 egg yolks) -granulated sugar -evaporated milk -vanilla extract in a separate bowl mix egg yolks and sugar (make sure you add enough sugar to sweeten the filling.. but not too much) then mix in evaporated milk and 1 or 2 tsp of vanilla extract. mix ingredients and then pour into pan. pie in conventional oven at 350. takes about 1 to 1˝ hours. you can check it by poking it down the middle w/ a toothpick, and if the toothpick looks wet & slimy still... then it's not ready... or wobble the whole pan to see if filling is still watery. You want it to be thick like jello. Me personally, I don't care for the meringue but if you do you: mix your egg whites with sugar & beat until it stiffens. spread on top when pie is about cooked. meringue takes only 5-10 minutes to cook. Enjoy! Fa'afetai lava mo le avanoa. Love & blessings... from my family to yours. Tofa soifua.

Fa'afetai lava mo le recipe..I will definitely try it..That is my husband favorite..I have been looking for this recipe but was only able to see my cousin make it once but she just eye ball it without measuring cup and was in a hurry doing it and had no time for lessons (thanks alot, lol)..So that being sad, thank you again, Mrs. Letuli.. going to make it and surprise my honey..
