Jeddah - some questions on living there

Thank author of this post/commentThis board appears to have more questions than answers - trying my luck though.

1) What is an approx. price range of a mid-segment second hand car in good condition in Jeddah (sedan, hatchback or SUV)?

2) What are cab fares like?

3) How much does an average meal in a good middle class restaurant ( the ones that mid-management professionals go to) cost?

4)How much can two people (Indians, rice eating) expect to spend on food ( regular meals and breakfast plus snacks) all home cooked in a month?

5) Do Muslims have to pray as per an official norm or can they pray according to their own schools (hanafi, maliki, etc.)?

I would really appreciate an answer.

This seems to be a fairly old post with some good questions that gets a lot of people reading and not much activity.

Maybe a few more questions can be added... how are different foreigners viewed in Jeddah? Are they well accepted? Is there a large expat community?

What would be some of the concerns for an American or an Indian Expat moving to Jeddah? What would be some of the positive experiences they might encounter?
