We are in the process of looking for a house and I asked my wife (who is Taiwanese) If I could go on the mortgage with her. The word is that foreigners can be named on a mortgage although it makes it more difficult to get one if you want this. I suppose this means that it is very difficult to get one if you are by yourself. The big deal is that when you come to sell your property you will be charged 20% tax because you are not Taiwanese. The good thing about buying in Taiwan is that the mortgage rates are very cheap compared with the west about 2-3% per year. The best way to get a mortgage is to prepare a deposit of between 10 & 20% then go see a building company or estate agent who will help you sort one out. As far as I can tell at the moment Taiwan doesn't really have mortgage brokers and banks do not sell directly (but this may need more investigation). Hope this helps somebody. Aaron

"Land-assets"
Dear Friend, I have been following closely our clients' enquiries and searches in the past few months and I found that Taiwan properties interest you all most. That is why I spent the last week making a short list of the top Taiwan properties for sale in Taiwan that we currently offer. I have rich experience in the field of real estate as I have personally sold more than 1, 000 properties priced between 1, 000 EUR and 9, 000, 000 EUR and our company has already sold over 11, 000 properties. I want to be as brief as possible, so enjoy Taiwan PROPERTIES’ Top 13. We also have many other properties including beach front apartments from as little as 750 EUR per sq.m. So if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly by e-mail at any time. I look forward to hearing from you.
