I have been selected by a reputed company in Tanzania and want to join in 30 days time.

This is my first time going abroad for a job or relocating. I have been warned by my friends etc that Tanzania is not only very unsafe country but the employers are also not very freindly.

Can somebody guide me? And I solicite for good advics.

Hi Sharma, hope your move was sucessful. Being a Tanzanian national myself I do not think u were full informed about the country. Before I go on the offence, have u moved to Tanzania already? and how is it?

For the record, I think the most unfriendly thing about Tanzania is the weather, especially in Dar- es- salaam. When it comes to people, I feel that Tanzanian do go out of their way to make foreigners comfortable. Yes we experience our fair share of robberies and theft but its not normally armed robbery as it is in say, South Africa. Theft is normally through pick pocketing and grab and run, so watch out for your phone while in traffic, especially when in traffic.

Lastly I do hope you have a lovely time in that peaceful nation, please keep an open mind. Peace!

I live in Tanzania and have done so far for past 5 yrs with no problems, in fact I feel safer here than in London which is where Im from. People are friendly and unless you hang lots of flashy jewerly or phones on you its safe. If you arrive give me an email and I'll show you around All the best Andrew
