Can anyone enlighten as to the current political situation in Togo? The most recent I have been able to find by internet search is old by a couple of years.
I recently met the Prince of Togo, who miraculously survived assasination attempts. Under his father, all went to school, whereas now the military exacts payment, and only the rich send their children to school.
Is Lome safe to visit for Americans? Are the phone systems able to reach international locations? (That was a problem because there were only two, MOOV and another provider, and they only had service in Togo; one had to go to the Ghana-Togo border to call out!)
