Hi

We would like to live in Tunisia in the very near future and looking into education systems for 5-11yr olds. We are english speaking, hope someone could guide us how to go about finding a school.

Hi Sue and Jason,

depends where you will live,but schools are available for forein nationals. I have just enrolled my two childrn into a private school in Monastir,they have bent over backwards to accomodate the children.I also hired a tutor to start them with basic french and arabic none of these options are expensive but then again I am in Monastir not Tunis and the school is a French one.I would suggest you come over and research by vivitin not only schools but the relevent gov dept who will be very helpfull,you can also visit the Embassy in Tunis.I am aware that there is a private American school in Tunis which is English speaking but from what I have been told can be expensive there is an English school in Sousse,but your child is young so will adapt quickly my children are 10 and 8 and have adapted well mixing with the local children has been invaluable.....word of advice though if you do come dont try to live as in England live as a local or you will find it difficutlt and learn basic arabic its not too hard once you have done this the locals are very friendy and will help you no end,live as an English family and you will do so alone and feel isolated.Hope this has helped

hi everyone, i am thinking to move to tunisia port el kantoui or sousse. we have a daughter of 11 called jess. can speak a little aribic no french also learning german. have been to this country once and going again at xmas. could anyone give us any info, about schools, education and jobs as i am a nursery nurse in n. wales. if u would like to contact us please do. thank you.
