Please let me know if anyone has obtained a job in Tunisia without speaking the language - Arabic or French. Also, where would be the best area to work i.e. Hammamet, Sousse, Monastir.

Thanks

Hi

I am both Tunisian and British and have lived and worked in both countries. The best thing to look for in Tunisia is a teaching position. Your native language skills as an english speaker will be very useful. Try approaching some universities and NGO's in tunis . You are expected to have some university-college degree of some sort, although private universities might not be too picky. I have known some friends who came for family reason to live in tunisia and didnt speak any other language but english. That can be taxing and tough on most people. you should also bear in mind that tunisia is far from being an afluent country and that unemployment of skilled labours is very high. having a specific skills that few can compete against like a native language is ideal, it works better if you have a teaching degree or even a TEFL (teaching english as a Foreign language ' certificate.

good luck to all of you.

Could you get a job knowing English and French but not Arabic, or is Arabic pretty much the only way to get a job? I am American and know English and am currently learning French, but is it necessary that I study Arabic also?

Hi,

I am a Tunisian citizen. At the moment, I am in the United States finishing up my Bachelor degree in English and Public Communication. I will be back to Tunisia upon my graduation this summer. I have been in the US for about three years in a scholarship called PLUS (Partnership for Learning Undergraduate Studies) sponsored by the Academy of Educational Development and the US State Department. I am open to any job that is considered of my degree and my experience in the US.

Feel free to contact me.

Hello everyone,

I might be accepting a job that will station me in Tunisia for a year. Apparently i will be paid in Tunisia and in Tunisian Dinars. Can anyone tell me if this is an issue? I would like to know if i can convert my money into USD$, and if i can take my money out of Tunisia freely?

Thanks!

Majid

I am interested in living and volunteering in Tunisia for several months. I speak English and a little French: I have a lot of experience in public relations, particularly writing. I am posting this message hoping that someone might be able to give me advice on how to search for a position. You can communicate directly with me at andeverall@gmail.com

If anyone can e-mail me at the provided aderss and just give me any tips that they might have about any international companies that i would be able to work in, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

I recently met two Tunisian lads on holiday who would like to come to Britain to work. They dont have ant specialist skills but speak and write Arabic, and some french and english. How hard would it be for them to relocate as they are keen to try a life in Britain?

I am a primary school teacher, my husband is Tunisian and we live in the UK together. We are thinking about relocating to Tunisia. Does anyone know about getting a teaching post there? I speak only English but I can speak a little French and some basic Arabic. Any helpful suggestions?
