hi sue i just bought a brand new 2 bed apartment in yalikavak and i love it, we are going to stay for the summer months while the children are of school. i bought from a local company in northern ireland and went straight forward no problems it cost £40,000 and is only a 10min walk to the beach bars shops and restaurants.the cost of living is very cheap in turkey i met a guy who is living there permantly and it cost about £40 a month for his electric and water. the people are so friendly and will do anything to help you hope this information helps you get in touch if you want to no anything else diane

Hi, can anyone help me. I am moving to Turkey next year with my wife and 8 year old son. We will be living in the Bodrum/Altinkum area and we are trying to find an English school in this kind of area. If anyone has re-located to here with school age children can you please give me some advice. Thanks Les.

I am a single woman thinking of moving to bodrum area from UK. I am a qualified teacher and able to offer tutoring. What can you tell me about what I should expect, please.

Hi Caroline. We are a collection of families that live on the Bodrum peninsula. In September we have a group of children that are going to "home school" and we are looking for an English trained primary school teacher to come and work part time with us. Please get back to me if you are interested.

Hi Caroline, My husband has a lot of friends who work in real estate so we can certainly pass on the details of people we know that you will be able to trust. You have probably looked on the internet and have some idea of prices. The weather here is lovely for most of the year. The sun shines for a large portion of the time and the sky is a beautiful blue, often with no clouds. It does get a little cool and wet in January and February and the middle of July and August can be hot - normally when a lot of the expats go back to the UK. Interestingly there seem to be a lot of expat single women here. Apart from petty theft there is generally very little crime here so you would feel safe. It would not matter that you are not primary trained, what we are looking for most is someone very positive with a lot of energy who can encourage the kids to learn in a fun way. You have to remember that coming here you are likely to make a large cut in salary but most people that move here are looking for a life stlye change and to leave the rat race behind. I hope this has given you some things to think about. Nicki

Dear All, Anyone who is interested in buying a property in Bodrum either short term or long term, I would suggestthe Woodland Regency development in Konacik (Just outside Bodrum Town Center) My husband and I bought one bed apartment for 53K direct from the develepor called cumberlan properties. friends said we paid too much for a one bedroom 53K? I showed the some images and they no longer think it is expensive. end of the day you get what you pay for.The site is finishing in june 2010. I think we made a real good investment as the location is very important. I strongly recommend these guys as they are very professional at what they do. Guy called Jack in their London office is a really helpful lad. 02075867179 • Page 1 (Original Post) •
