Bahcelievler, Summer of 1988

I was sitting on our balcony located on the fifth floor of a new apartment building we recently moved in to. As I did many times before hoping to catch a glimpse of her, I found myself quietly sitting in the dark once again. Her apartment was located across from ours in another building. Her balcony was also unlit. The only light was coming from inside the apartment. Anxious to see her, I waited. I can see a silhouette through the window of someone walking in the apartment from time to time, so I knew someone was home. Then a towering voice rang from her mother. “Mine. Mine!” calling out her daughters name. “Mine?” Suddenly, after sitting quietly and secretly, she jumps out of a darkened corner of the balcony and runs inside. Little did I know she was trying to catch a glimpse of me.

I’ll never forget that moment. You see, I never told her my interest in her. The connection I felt with her has carried me over the last 21 years. I was 17 years old at the time as was she. I have never forgotten her. She has definitely put a lasting impression over my heart.

Now, after 21 long years, I am coming back to Antalya. If all goes as planned, I will be arriving mid May 2009 and will remain for 2 weeks. I will be staying at a garden pansiyon in the old city. With all due respect to Turkish culture, I would like to see her again. Most likely she is married. If that is the case, I will respect that. I don’t want to cause any problems. But, if she is not married will we meet again?

She is approximately 38 years old now. Lived off Teoman pasa Cad. in Bahcelievler, Antalya Turkey in 1988. She has a sister a few years younger named Yadigar. Her father worked or still works for the police department. It is possible her last name may be "Kus", but I am pretty sure it is "Kas." If you know her, please post or email me here.
