Good day all. I am writing from Canada (Montreal) and I might have a chance to move to the turks soon for a new job. The first and only comment I heard yet is that the locals are not very receptive and don't realy like people that are not from the turks. To be blunt, I heard that they are pretty racist towards us. Is it true. Also I would be moving with my family (4) what kind of life are we looking at?? Thanks for responding and hope to be closer to you soon.

FIRST OF ALL HUMANS BELEIVE THAT THEY ARE THE KING OF THERE TOWN.AND I BELEIVE THAT THEY ARE RIGHT.THEY EVERYONE DOESNT LIKE INTRUSION.

SECONDLY WHAT U HEARD IS WRONG, NO ONE HERE IS RACIST.

POSSIBLY THE PERSON WHO HAS TOLD U THIS BECOZ HE MUST HAVE MET WITH A BAD INCIDENT IN HIS LIFE.

FIGHTS AND QUARRELS ARE ALWAYS THERE IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD, AND WHEN A HUMAN BECOMES ANGRY HE SAYS ANYTHING TO MAKE HIMSELF FEEL LIKE A KING.

BUT I AM LIVING HERE FROM THE PAST TWO YEARS, I NEVER HAVE COME IN TO A SITUATION WHERE I HAD A FIGHT BUT THERE WERE SOME QUARRELS.

BUT I ALWAYS IGNORE SUCH THING BECAUSE I HAVE COME HERE TO WORK

AND I AM GOING TO RETURN TO MY COUNTRY.

BUT FRANKLY SPEAKING PEOPLE HERE ARE COOL, AND THEY CAN BE UR GOOD FRIENDS.

SECONDLY IF U R GETTING UR FAMILY AVOID GOING TO DISCOS AND LATE NIGHT PARTIES WHERE THERE IS TOO MUCH OF A CROWD.

THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HERE STAYING FOR YEARS WITH THERE FAMILIES , I NEVER HAVE HEARD ANY COMPLAINT FROM THEM.

EVEN MY WIFE STAYED HERE FOR A YEAR BUT, THERE WERE JUST COMMENTS FROM SOME PEOPLE, WE ALWAYS NEVER TOOK THOSE SERIOUSLY.

I LIVE HERE WITH ONLY ONE CONCEPT IN MIND, WORK AND ENJOY, THATS WHAT EVERYBODY DOES HERE.

It is true... I have lived all over the place, NY, FL, DC, and the UK and am now in the Turks. This place has been the best for me and my family.

Like Arya says, anywhere you go there is a potential for several social things going wrong, but where ever you go there will be bad apples and that depends on you and your family and how you conduct yourself in the community. I know Turks and Caicos people are Proud, and so they should be, this place ROCKS, but to call them Racist is a far cry from the truth.

But i have noticed that because of the overall fairly high wealth of the country their value on money as a whole is totally different and as a result no one "tolerats" outsiders coming in and being pompus and arrogant because of their worth or who they know etc. etc. because in a place this small it really doesnt matter how much mone you have... its all about your attitude, and thats when islanders will typically turn their back on you...
