Farnham Castle International Briefing and Conference Centre would like to hear from anyone who is going back to the UK after an expat assignment anywhere in the world! We offer training to new expats, and invite returned assignees and their partners to take part in the sessions to offer their practical advice for living in other countries. The sessions are quite informal and usually part of a one or two day training programme, covering all aspects of an expat assignment. Please email me at mmaclach@farnhamcastle.com or visit http://www.farnhamcastle.com for more info

Hi, my grown son and myself are seriously considering returning to England. We have been in the States for thirty years but are considering perhaps moving to Devon or Cornwall where it is warmer and near the sea, which appeals to us. What is the cost of living in those areas and what would our first move be to realize this move? I am retired.

HiI am 54 and have been resident in Crete for 7 1/2 years and have split with my wife. I have no income and little savings and have to return to the UK. However I have long term diabetes which has seriously affected my body, especially my eyes (1 5% & 1 60%)and my legs (very weak)which affects my ability to work). I have nowhere to live in the Uk and can only stay at old friends for a few weeks. I intend returning before Xmas and ask your advice regarding benefit entitlement, housing etc. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
