Hi there, I am a 24 year old Irish girl, and hope to relocate to Uruguay to spend at least a year teaching english to students. By the time I arrive I will have a good TEFL qualification, in addition to my Bachelor University Degree. Does anyone have any advice for me? The main queries I have are whether work is easy to come by, whether it can be arranged prior to my relocation (obviously this would be preferable), what the working week is like and what the wages are like? Obviously I have a million other questions, but these would be the most pertinent! Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated- i hope to hear back soon :)

HiI´m currently living in Santiago de Chile, where there is amples of work. I´m also looking at moving to Uruguay but can´t find any info on the net. If you get hold of some, please send it down my end. Cheers :)

Try looking on totaluruguay.com. I'm not sure there is oddles of work there... but you can make a quick trip and check it out.

well well...what a tiny world it is! Here was me thinking I was being all original coming here :) I'm 23, from Dublin, arrived in Montevideo 5 months ago (although it feels like 2 weeks ago still!) and I love it! I remember the nightmare I had trying to find ANY information on the place when I was at home so I started a little blog about some things you may be wondering about.Another great resource is www.totaluruguay.com, there you will find another discussion board, blogs by all different types of people living here, apartment info etc. If you want to contact me leave your email address here or on my blog and I'll get back to you but definitely use the forum on totaluruguay to get information. Good Luck! • Page 1 (Original Post) •
