When the urban grooves (local r'n'b, ragga, soul etc) fever hit the sscen i was also part of the crowd that was cheering for the upcoming artists... There were the twin brothers, Roy and Royce, Plaxedes, Rocquii (i understand the spelling has since changed to Roki), and the Chamhembe Crew, Ngoni Kambarami, the list is not quite endless but they were a number of artists who were truly promising...but to be honest i have not been listening to Power FM or watching Zim TV of late such that i am so out of touch with the current Zim music trend Plus the 100% local music policy on the affected radio stations was scraped so the local voice is once again competing with international music. Just like the days of Kevin and Muzi, a duo of guys who sang a sing along wedding song that was more popular than Keith Sweat's twisted, In Zimbabwe. i love local music and wish that it could develop into an industry... Where are you urban groovers? we would like to see ya on SABC channels and even M-TV!! come On!!! • Page 1 (Original Post) •
